Canadian Curriculum
- Learning through play and interactive tools. Alphabets, phonetic, numbers, practicing handwriting, colouring and building. Learning about the environment and the surrounding. Helping students become aware of “self.”
- Learning to write full sentences, multiplication table and simple maths
- Positive and inclusive behaviour, sharing, rules of etiquette
- Beginning of Islamic Studies and recognition of Arabic alphabets
- English: Reading, writing, vocabulary. Building comprehension skills, paragraph writing and critical analysis.
- Math/ Computer Science: Theory, problems and applications, solutions. Math in everyday life. Coding.
- Social Studies: Learning about the environment, learning about our connection to each other, maps and locations. Learning about First Nation and the history of Canada.
- Science: Focusing on technology, engineering, stem, application, different theories. Learning through experiments.
- Islamic Studies: This will include Quran Studies and Arabic Language as well as learning about the Sunnah.
- Learning through sharing, teamwork, helping and working with peers, being responsible.
- English: Emphasis on reading, writing, analysis, comprehension strategies, vocabulary, essay writing, media literacy, oral, non-verbal communication and critical thinking.
- Math/ Computer Science: Theory, mathematical process, problem solving, reasoning & proving, reflecting and mental math. Concepts and application of computer science.
- Science: STEM, skills and connections, exploring and understanding concepts, practical experiments, science & technology.
- Social Studies (History/ Geography): Learning about the environment, learning about our connection to each other, maps and locations. Learning about First Nation and the history of Canada. Inquiry, application and understanding of geographic context and economic development.
- Islamic Studies: This will include Quran Studies and Arabic Language as well as learning about the Sunnah. Islamic history and contributions of Islam to the world.
- French Studies, Art, Physical Education
- Learning about teamwork, leadership skills and how to help others and being a good citizen of this world.
Electives
- Art: Students who want to pursue a future in Art or Marketing History:
- History: Students will learn about the beginning of civilization, important historical figures and how history has shaped the world.
- Students who plan to pursue computer science in high school will do additional lessons.
